Frequently Asked Questions
We offer professional and courteous chauffeur services for formal events in Galveston, Texas. The Thing seats five, including the driver.
Normally, the service includes the historical boundaries of the City of Galveston. Upon request, the chauffeur can travel west as far as Surfside Beach, or as far east as Rollover Pass on Bolivar Peninsula. Traveling to Bolivar Peninsula means taking the TX-87 ferry across the Texas City channel.
The service will not cross the Galveston Causeway.

Up until two weeks before the scheduled event date, cancellations can be made with a full refund of the initial deposit. If a cancellation is made within two weeks, the deposit will not be refunded.
The Thing is an open-air vehicle, so we will not operate in heavy rain or thunderstorms. If the forecast calls for inclement weather on the day of your event, we will work with you to reschedule for a different day at no additional cost, or offer a full refund.
The Thing is a vintage utility vehicle that struggles to handle highway speeds and driving conditions. Since I-45, the Galveston Causeway, is the only land route to the mainland, travel to and from the mainland is infeasible.
We have two drivers, Dawson and David, who are both experienced and professional. We will do our best to accommodate requests for specific drivers, but we cannot guarantee availability.
Yes. Though, since the Thing does not have a built-in stereo system, naturally we have a large bluetooth speaker.
