We charge a flat, hourly rate of $150 per hour, rounded up to the nearest whole hour.
There is a minimum reservation of one hour.
To secure your reservation, we'll ask that you make an initial deposit.
For special requests, such as vehicle decorations, additional pricing is negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
The Thing is a 50+ year old utility vehicle. While we keep it shipshape, going long distances with it demands special preparation.
For destinations inside the urban core of Galveston; defined here as everywhere on Galveston Island (including Pelican Island) that lay east of 8 Mile Road,
there are no additional charges for mileage.
For destinations outside these boundaries, such as Jamaica Beach, Sea Isla, Bolivar Peninsula, etc, we may evaluate additional charges based on distance travelled.
